The Ultra Lounge was located at the epicenter of Washington’s notoriously busy and crowded K Street business corridor in the heart of downtown. In DC’s infamous “red-light district.”

Wedged between towering office buildings, the Ultra Lounge had a rich eloquent appearance, with its glazed white façade and chrome-plated glass entrance. The Ultra Lounge had a certain wow factor that captivated the senses.

Inside Ultra, the atmosphere was up-tempo and tasteful. The décor was a lavish, contemporary mix of onyx-topped bars, frosted-glass tables made to resemble ice carvings, and shimmering black marble floors.

Elegant dark leather Dusseldorf lounge sofas ran the length of a glass wall on the left. Large plasma screens adorned the walls on the right, inside the exclusive VIP suite, where the privileged ballers openly flossed their wealth.

DJ Trini was mixing it up on the ones and twos. He had the crowd on the dance floor winding and grinding to Jerimah’s “Birthday Sex.”

Angel was feeling it—the sexy music, the sexy crowd, and the alluring atmosphere. She took her sweet time, taking it all in, as she slithered amongst the thick mass of gyrating bodies.

Suddenly the familiar face of Dee Dee came into view. “Angel! Angel, girl!” Dee Dee screamed, beaming with excitement. “If you don’t get your ass over here, girl!” She donned a playful smirk, her hands perched on her hips.

Angel and Dee Dee met in college. they were “sorority sisters for life.” They coined the phrase and tossed it around whenever they were together.

Dee Dee called herself DC’s top diva and had no qualms letting anyone know. Her government name was Debra Noble. She was a successful real estate investor who was heralded as one of Washington’s top realty brokers. Her résumé was impressive.

In the business arena she was known as Ms. Debra Noble; she was Dee Dee to her close friends. Dee Dee was an over-the-top attractive cinnamon-toned live wire who favored Gabrielle Union. She had long copper-colored hair, soft brown eyes and an extremely wild and untamed cougar-like attitude.

Angel materialized from the crowded sea of bodies. She looked absolutely stunning, like a pretty pink rose in bloom. Angel was impeccably dressed in a rich pink Chado Ralph Rucci pantsuit that was tailored to her coke-bottle frame. She wore a pair of hot-pink alligator stilettos from Jimmy Choo.

“Hot damn, ho!” Nina shouted, bolting off the sofa. “If I didn’t know you myself, I would’ve mistaken you for one of those pretty super models on the cover of Vogue!” Nina’s hefty frame stumbled left and right as she rushed around the table. She belted out a wicked laugh when she miraculously remained on her feet without spilling a drop of champagne from her glass. She wobbled over and leaned on Dee Dee’s shoulder for support.

“Angel, girl you look like new money! Don’t she Dee?” Nina said loudly and offered up a quick toast before gulping down the entire glass.

With an inquisitive smirk smeared on her lips, Dee Dee eyed Angel up and down, tilted her head slightly forward, and said offhandedly, “Girlfriend is shining.
